  • Mission

The International Society of SS Cosma & Damiano is a non-profit 501(c) organization located in South Queens, New York, established in 1990.  The organization consists of a Board of Directors and a volunteer membership which gives of their time and talents to help the Society achieve its goals of raising funds for children's programs and related health care services.

Since its inception, one of the primary goals of the Society is to help make a difference in the lives of children who are affected with physical disadvantage, developmental disorders and life-threatening diseases.

The Society is therefore dedicated to raising funds to support worthy causes to help sick and disabled children and promote research and development in various health care fields.  One of our greatest desires is to have our funds go directly to those institutions in the health care field that provide quality health care services to children in need.

To date, we have raised and donated over $750,000 to various institutions and charities that provide care for children with catastrophic diseases.  Some of the institutions that we have supported over the years have been:

  • St. Francis Hospital—Roslyn, NY
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital—Wilkes-Barre, PA
  • Ronald McDonald House @ LIJ Hospital—New Hyde Park, NY
  • Make-a-Wish Foundation—Islandia, NY
  • Bernard Fineson Development Center—Howard Beach, Queens, NY
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)—New York Chapter,
         New York, NY

We have recently joined with the JDRF (NY Chapter) to support their efforts through their Walk-a-thon program to help find a cure.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International is the world's largest charitable funder and advocate of Type 1 Diabetes research. The Mission of JDRF is to find a cure of Diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
